STEEL MAGNOLIAS
Set in Truvy’s Beauty Shop in Louisiana, where all ladies who are anybody have their hair done. With the aid of her eager assistant, Annelle, Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to local rich curmudgeon, Ouiser; an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee; and local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter Shelby is about to marry a “good ole boy.” Filled with hilarious banter and verbal collisions, the sudden realization of mortality draws on underlying strength and love to make this a truly touching, funny and amiable group in good times and bad.

NOISES OFF
Possibly the funniest farce ever written about trying to produce a play. There are moments when everyone, including the audience, seems to be riding a runaway roller coaster. A celebration of truly awful theatre, a backstage explanation of how things can get that way, and a magnificent conclusion of how they can and do get worse, and the bad has never been so good or funny. As side-splitting a farce as you will ever see.

SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN
August 9-12, 16-19, 23-26, 2007
The year is 1938. It’s Saturday night in Mount Pleasant, NC, and the Reverend Oglethorpe has invited the Sanders Family to provide an upliftin’ evening of singin’ and witnessin’. The audience is invited to pull up a pew and join in the rollicking good time. More than two dozen songs, many of them vintage pop hymns, and hilarious stories from the more or less devout Sanders provide a richly entertaining evening that has audiences clapping, singing, laughing, and cheering. “Totally beguiling…foot-stomping soul food.”—-N.Y. Post. “A charming and funny celebration of Americana.”—-N.Y. Times.
DRACULA: THE MUSICAL?
October 18-21, 25-27, 2007
If you remember the old scary Bram Stoker tale of Dracula, and you recall what the Carol Burnett Show did to classics like Gone With the Wind and Sunset Boulevard, then that might give you some idea of the delightful spoof that this show offers. Set in an insane asylum, (what better place for the Georgia Mountain Players), you’ll meet all the classic characters including a bat whose radar has gone badly awry. This show is melodic, rollicking and hilarious from start to finish.
